Frequently asked questions.

What are your COVID-19 precautions?

I take hygiene and safety very seriously. More than anything, I want to make sure you always feel comfortable. I’ve continued to work through the pandemic by developing a rigorous standard of protections.

I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19. I wear a mask during the entire service and wear an additional face shield while I am applying makeup. I wash my hands before and after each client. All my makeup, brushes, and tools are always clean and sanitized. I never put products directly on a client’s skin except for the products in powder form, such as eyeshadows, blush, bronzer, etc., which I spray with makeup sanitizer right after each use. I use separate, clean brushes for each client and deep clean my brushes in a special sanitizing machine between service visits.

Don’t hesitate to bring up any concerns you have. I’m here to help.

What products do you use?

I use top of the line products from leading brands such as Tarte, Lancôme, Laura Mercier, Charlotte Tilbury, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Nars, Natasha Denona, YLS, Marc Jacob, etc.

What if I have sensitive skin or an allergy?

Please let me know if you have any allergies to a certain brand or ingredient when booking your appointment. I will check the ingredients in all the products that I use and make sure they don’t have the ingredient you are allergic to.

I am happy to use your products if you prefer.

Are false lashes included with the makeup?

Yes, they are included! I have natural and dramatic looks to choose from.

Are hair accessories or hair extensions included with the hair styling service?

While the actual hair accessories or extensions aren’t included, I can incorporate them into the hairstyle if you provide them.

Do I need to prepare or bring anything to the session?

I provide everything for the makeup and hair styling session, so you don’t have to prepare or bring anything, unless you’d like to incorporate your own products or have a hair accessory/extension you’d like to use.

I recommend you have your own lipstick to carry with you on the event day so you can touch up later.

Do you provide airbrush makeup?

Yes, and it’s a great option!

What is the difference between airbrush makeup and regular makeup?

Airbrush makeup is a spray foundation tool that applies foundation in the form of a fine spray. It can be light-natural looking or layered on for more coverage or a dramatic look. Airbrush foundation has a silicone base so once it’s set, it stays through sweat and tears. It’s famous for being long lasting and non-transferable.

Regular makeup is a regular foundation technique using classic brushes for application. It’s buildable from light-natural to full coverage. It’s also long lasting. But people who have very oily skin might need to touch up with some powder later.

From my experience with varied clients, not everyone will like the airbrush makeup. Especially, people who have skin problems such as acne, lines or facial hair. Airbrush makeup can highlight those problems or give a heavy makeup look.

If you are not sure if airbrush makeup would be the right choice for you but would like to try, I suggest you try on a trial day and I am happy to switch to a regular makeup if you don’t like the look of the airbrush makeup.

Do you have a minimum number of people needed to book a session?

No, there’s no minimum. Solo sessions are great.

Do you have a maximum number of people per session? What about a really big bridal party, film shoot, or corporate event?

I don’t have a maximum number of people. I have a roster of amazing artists that I work with to support larger sessions.

Do you work alone or do you have a team?

I usually work alone but if the session is for a large group, I can bring more artists to help. Each project is unique, but a good rule of thumb is that for every event requiring 10 or more services (i.e. 5 women getting both hair & makeup) an additional artist will be added to the project.

Do you offer a discount for a big group of people?

Unfortunately, I don’t offer discounts. My services are priced competitively so that I can be affordable to the majority of the market, but still deliver high quality, focused service to each of my valued clients. For bigger groups, I bring in a team of expertly qualified artists.

Do you travel? Do you have a studio where I could come to you?

Yes to both. I do travel, so I can come to you, sometimes for a fee, based on the location. I am based in Nyack, NY, where I have a home studio. You are welcome to come to me for our trial session. It is usually best for me to travel to you on the day of the event.

What is a trial appointment?

A trial is a great way for us to try out a look before the big day. On the actual day of a big event , it’s best to have decided exactly what type of hairstyle and makeup look feels like the best version of you. Updo? Braids? Cascading Curls? Book a trial and work out the look ahead of time.

What should I prepare for a trial appointment?

Before the trial day, please send me some ideas of makeup and/or hairstyle that you are looking for. You can look for inspiration pictures on my website, The Knot profile, Pinterest, or wherever inspiration finds you. Some hairstyles that you choose might require a clip-in hair extension. You can show me a picture of the hairstyle that you would like and a picture of your natural hair then I can help you decide if you need the hair extension or not.

On the trial day, please have your face clean with moisturizer on and completely dry hair. If you would like to have hair extensions, it would be best if you have them for me on the trial day so I can style with the hair extension. If you don’t know if you need hair extensions yet, let’s style your hair without them first, to see if they’re necessary.

If you’ve already acquired a hair accessory or a veil, we can try them on the trial day. Of course, It’s ok if you don’t have them yet. Once we confirm your hairstyle, that will help inform what accessory will look and fit best and can easily be added in, after the trial.

What should I prepare for a wedding/event day?

For your big day, try your best to get some beauty sleep!

On the event day, being on time is really important, especially, if we have a lot of people to beautify. Doing a trial prior is highly recommended so we can follow our guidelines from the trial day. We can keep day-of adjustments to a minimum by working out the issues in the trial day.

I will create a schedule for you to make sure that we have you (and everyone in your party) done in time.  Please make sure everyone is aware of the schedule and arrives on time or early.

Please have your face clean and moisturized. If you plan on getting any facial hair removal services done, (i.e. brow, upper lip, hair line, etc.) I recommend you do them at least a few days in advance of your event day to avoid any potential redness.

It is very important for everyone who will be getting the hair styling service to come with a completely dry head of hair. I style starting with dry hair so coming with a wet head will add a lot of unanticipated drying time.

Please have the any hair extensions or accessory ready if you plan on incorporating them.

I highly recommend you bring a similar color of lipstick to carry around for touch ups throughout the event.

Can I change makeup and/or hairstyle from the trial day?

Yes, you can. Sometimes you get a clearer idea of what you want from the process of doing the trial day. I have many brides who changed to a different hairstyle from the trial day. We can schedule another trial to make sure that we will get everything right on the wedding/event day. Or we don’t have to do another trial. It’s totally up to you. You can show me a picture and explain it to me. Since I’ve already learned the nuances of your hair/skin texture, I’ll know what to expect on the event day. But, of course, another trial is recommended.

Can you stay for touch ups?

If you would like me to stay for touch ups after the end of the session. I can stay for an additional $50/hour. That being said, the makeup usually lasts a long time, and you probably will only need to touch up the lipstick - something that you can easily do yourself, if you bring your own lipstick.

How does the payment work?

If you would like to do the trial, the trial fee is required on the trial day.

Once we agree on all the details of your event session, you’ll want to book your event time slot by signing our contract and paying a booking deposit.

The remaining balance for the final payment is due on the event day.

What type of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, Venmo or Zelle.

For any sessions with multiple artists, it is cash only to be able to easily pay each artist.
